1. Website operator

This policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on lusalegal.es, operated under the name Lusa Legal by Emigrante Consulting, S.L., Spanish tax ID B66902776, at Paseo de Gracia 8–10, 3rd floor, office 2, 08007 Barcelona, Spain. You can reach us through our contact page.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device or accessed through your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and certain tracking pixels. Some are needed for the website to function; others help measure visits and campaigns or display external content.

Cookies may be first-party (set through our domain) or third-party, and may last for one browsing session or a longer period. A cookie placed through our domain may still involve an external service provider.

3. Categories, providers and purposes

Necessary cookies

These support essential website functions, features you request, certain security measures and the storage of your privacy choices. WordPress, WPML and Wordfence may be involved, depending on the features used. They are not used for advertising.

When Lusa Cookie Consent is active, your choice is stored in a first-party cookie, lusa_cookie_choice, for 180 days. Cookies strictly necessary to provide a service you request do not require consent where the applicable legal exemption applies.

Analytics and website improvements

Google Analytics 4 (Google) helps us understand visits, page use and browsing statistics. Our configuration may include a general property alongside language-specific properties. Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) provides information about interactions with pages, click maps and, if enabled, session replays. Particular care is required to prevent confidential information from being included in behavioral analytics.

These optional tools are activated only if you allow the “Analytics” category. More information: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

Advertising and conversion measurement

Google Ads (Google) may measure whether an advertising campaign results in an action, such as the successful submission of a contact form. Meta Pixel (Meta, Facebook and Instagram) may measure campaign results and, depending on its settings, support advertising audiences. These technologies are activated only if you allow “Advertising and measurement”.

More information: How Google uses cookies and Meta's Cookie Policy.

External content

Certain pages may include maps, videos or other content from external platforms. Where such resources require consent, they are loaded only after you allow “Third-party content”; otherwise, an alternative may be displayed or the content will remain blocked. Any external content provider actually used must be identified alongside the content or in this policy.

Google Tag Manager, when used, manages website tags. The relevant purposes and consent requirements depend on the services activated through it.

4. Cookie lifespan and data retention

Retention depends on the purpose and technology:

  • Your Lusa Cookie Consent preference lasts 180 days, unless removed earlier or a change requires a new decision.
  • Common Google Analytics 4 cookies may last up to 24 months, although browser restrictions can shorten their life. Google Ads attribution cookies used for conversion measurement generally last 90 days, according to Google's documentation.
  • Microsoft Clarity uses session and persistent cookies. Microsoft documents 30 days for ordinary session-playback data and up to 9 months for certain interaction data. The duration of Meta cookies and related data depends on the technology used and the provider's published terms.
  • If decision logging is enabled in Lusa Cookie Consent, a pseudonymous record of your choice (date, categories, policy version and random identifier) is kept for a maximum of 24 months. The plugin's decision log does not store your IP address or User-Agent in its database table.

These periods are separate from technical server access logs or security records. Please consult the linked provider documentation for its applicable technologies and retention practices.

5. Accepting, rejecting and changing your choice

When entering the website, you may accept all, reject all or customize the optional categories independently. Rejecting them does not prevent access to the website's information and essential features.

You may withdraw or change your consent at any time using the website's “Cookie preferences” control or the following button:

Withdrawal prevents new activation of the corresponding technologies, but some third-party cookies previously installed may need to be removed through your browser or the provider's own tools. You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings.

6. Providers, personal data and international transfers

The providers identified above may process browsing data for their own purposes or in accordance with their arrangements with Lusa Legal. Depending on the service, personal data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States, subject to the applicable GDPR transfer mechanisms for the specific provider and processing activity.

Please consult the providers' terms: Google, Microsoft and Meta. The actual enabled services and international transfer mechanisms must be verified before final publication.

For information about personal data and your rights, please refer to our Legal Notice and Data Protection.

7. Updates

We will review this policy when our technologies, purposes, service providers or applicable requirements change. We will ask you to make a new choice where required.
